Full description of the position

Description:

Summary: Sells mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, electronic equipment and supplies or services by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Calls on management representatives such as engineers, architects, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempts to convince prospective clients of desirability and practicability of products or services offered.

Reviews blueprints, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or projected increases in production from the client’s use of proposed equipment or services.

Draws up or proposes changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services, resulting in cost reduction or improvement in operations.

Provides technical services to clients relating to the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Draws up sales or service contracts for products or services.

Provides technical training to employees of the client.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university; or 2-4 years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. Bilingual in Spanish is not required but a big benefit.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills, knowledge of MS Office Software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet software.
