Meals from the Heartland (MFTH)

Position Description

Sales Manager

Reports to: Director of Development

Directly Supervises: N/A

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Job Purpose:

The Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for engaging with businesses, churches, and other organizations to secure paid meal packaging events, event sponsorships, or other financial contributions in support of our annual Hunger Fight goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Help develop, manage, and execute the overall Hunger Fight sales strategy for MFTH, evaluating its success and providing recommendations for improvement.

· Manage specific campaigns designed to expand our presence in other Iowa metro markets outside of the Des Moines area.

· Work to identify and manage a sales pipeline complete with requisite contact information.

· Conduct sales calls (person-to-person, telephone, electronic) in order to grow our number of hunger fights.

· Work collaboratively and closely with the Development Director and Hunger Fight Managers to ensure efficient relationship building where cross-purposes might exist.

· Embrace the MFTH mission, vision, and values and promote in all business engagements.

· Encourage and model good collaboration and communications with MFTH staff, board, volunteers, and donors.

· Stay abreast of developments in the fields of communications, marketing, and sales.

· Other management and administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

· Experience with and highly proficient in SalesForce.org or comparable sales/contact management system.

· 3-5 years of successful sales related experience.

· Experience in fundraising preferred but not required.

· Competence in standard word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Active participation in the community through board engagement, chamber involvement, or comparable.

· College degree with focus in communications, sales, and/or marketing, or proven work experience.

Accountability and Evaluation:

This position is supervised by the Director of Development. A job review is conducted annually.

Hours/week: 40 per week. Evening and weekend hours, as required. Seasonally, during peak donation periods, additional hours may be required and/or available.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
