Group Sales Representative

Summary
The Group Sales Representative is responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to ensure that event and catering revenues meet or exceed budget in order to maximize revenue and profits. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer service oriented, a strategic thinker and tech savvy with excellent writing and speaking skills. This position will work on numerous projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle pressure on a daily basis.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Drive new group business and maintain existing group business to meet and achieve yearly sales and attendance goals under the guidance of the Senior Sales Representative
- Cultivate relationships with key community stakeholders, trade groups, industry contacts,
travel/tourism boards, hospitality partners and local organizations
- Promote and sell all aspects of group sales which includes non-catered groups, catered groups, online consignment, hard ticket consignment, specialty groups and hotel partners
- Proactively research, grow, and maintain sales database by connecting with new and current
customers including tracking and analyzing sales data
- Track and analyze sales data to identify trends and sales patterns to support decision making,
goal setting and yearly planning
- Audit competitors regularly to ensure pricing and strategies to maintain a competitive advantage in-market
- Manage group contracts, rates, and terms
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner from guests via phone and web. Handle and resolve
customer issues regarding products or services within group sales or special events
- Develop content for sales flyers and promotions, website information, and mailings with regard to offerings and pricing each season, including email campaigns via Salesforce
- Oversee management of catered events at the park and hotel. Train and supervise special events team members on ticket collections and customer service for events
- Partner with Operations and management teams to attain a cohesive team environment, drive profitability, and ensure the success of group sales and events
- Report to management with sales in each channel segment
- Work alongside other marketing partners to coordinate and execute integrated sales campaigns
- Professionally represent and market the facility at industry meetings, tradeshows and off-site
events
- Maintain a monthly calendar of upcoming events and forecasted revenue to share with the
- General Manager, Accounting, and other affected departments
- Create detailed function sheets for all events that are used to inform the rest of the team about what goods and services will be required for the successful execution of the event
- Management of group sales/events staff includes hiring, training, coaching and development of managed personnel based on performance and accountability
- Build client relationships
- Communicate with the key members of that team who are directly involved in operations as well as the promotion of our venue
- Assist with the preparation and execution of concerts, festivals, and other special events hosted at the Resort including set up, tear down, day of execution, and client coordination.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals & objectives
- Ability to multitask and reprioritize activities
- Engage with current clients to drive commitment for future bookings
- Partner with Marketing/Sales director and food and beverage team on compelling catering options and pricing
- Partner with Marketing/Sales director and revenue management team on group sales pricing and incentives
- Conduct high-level conversations with Senior Executives in target accounts.
- Build relationships with local school districts to drive field trips and other group business
- General financial acumen
- Demonstrated success working and building effective internal relationships that move the business forward
- Excellent planning and organizational skills. Strong eye for execution with delivering high-quality group events that exceed client expectations.

- Computer Proficiency – MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), digital marketing analysis, CRM planning and analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Sales, Advertising, Communications, or related fields. Equivalent experience will be considered
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Flexible schedule - must be available to work long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays when the business needs require
- Experience in the entertainment or amusement and attractions industry is a plus but not required

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
