Job Title: Agronomy Account Manager

Reports to: Agronomy Sales Manager

Summary: Is responsible for making sound agronomic recommendations to customers regarding seed, crop nutrient and crop protection products and the sale of the same agronomy products along with custom application and precision ag services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build quality relationships with growers in assigned territory, providing sound agronomic advice.
• Develop a business plan by grower that demonstrates the best crop production practices to maximize yield.
• Promote and coordinate the profitable sale of crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision ag and services as well as other products offered to meet and exceed the needs of the customer.

• Develop strong working relationships internally, including the Account Manager team, Agronomy Operations Manages and Applicators, Administration and Division Managers to support a teamwork driven culture.
• Work with Supply Representatives to help support their products as directed by Sales Management.
• Enforces Farmward’s credit policy.
• Assist Agronomy Operations as business dictates by performing duties such as, but not limited to Nh3 tank fills, load/unload crop protection and seed for customers.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy and fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Agricultural background strongly preferred
• 2-year degree in an Ag related field or at least 2 years’ experience working with and recommending crop protection and crop nutrients.
• Acquire and maintain all necessary licenses. A Class A CDL is required within first year of employment.
• Skills necessary for success:

• Computer software to include MS Office and AgVance
• Basic accounting and math

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift/carry between 25 and 60#s on a regular basis.
• Must be able to walk ¼ mile on a regular basis.
