About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk Senior Manager who will report directly to the Credit Risk Director of Retail Services and Point-of-Sales loans Risk and will leverage their knowledge and experience of customer life-cycle risk management, risk models, agile execution, risk oversight and optimization to develop, enhance, and oversee implementation of credit risk strategies in specific areas of originations, account management, and decision engines.

Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk Senior Manager who will report directly to the Credit Risk Director of Retail Services and Point-of-Sales loans Risk and will leverage their knowledge and experience of customer life-cycle risk management, risk models, agile execution, risk oversight and optimization to develop, enhance, and oversee implementation of credit risk strategies in specific areas of originations, account management, and decision engines.
In this role, you will:
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for level of risk taken in credit activities with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility for both existing Retail Services products and new Point of Sales Loan products
- Manage and develop teams of individual contributors in roles with moderate complexity and risk
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with initiatives that cross multiple lines of business in scope with significant impact and risk
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development to drive the company credit culture, desire, and business performance
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Credit Risk team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
- Build relationships with corporate, business heads, Legal, Audit, regulators and industry partners on risk related topics
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interact with internal and external customers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Credit Oversight
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 6+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of SAS programming experience
- Experience in developing and enhancing Credit Risk strategies, preferred in Consumer Card or Unsecured Lending
- Deep experience in working as the risk lead with Product Management Team and Technology to launch new products or enhance existing credit products.
- Deep knowledge of the infrastructure needed to support a line of business, leading-edge risk practices, and required end-to-end processes
- Strong risk background and broad familiarity with regulation and risk requirements within a consumer lending business,
- Proven experience in building, leading, high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams
- Proven ability to advise senior business leadership regarding appropriate policies and processes leveraging risk management metrics, track performance, and monitor trends across the business
- Able to lead change effectively and constructively in an organization.
- Strategic Leadership - Creating and achieving a desired future state vision through influence on individual and group goals, reinforcements, and systems.
- Proven ability to foster constructive relationships with regulatory agencies, peers at other financial institutions, business leaders, and other internal risk management leaders/groups
- Proven experience successfully leading a line of business or corporate function in a business of comparable size, scale, complexity, and regulatory oversight
- Proven communication skills with the ability to influence, develop, partner, and collaborate at all levels within the organization and externally with customers, regulators, partners, and communities
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively build relationships within a matrixed environment to influence outcomes both within Unsecured Lending, Consumer Lending and IRM
