Senior Account Executive – Public Sector
- Must have Public Sector, government contract and bidding experience to be considered for this position.
- Position is based on-site in Wrentham, MA, yet we will consider a remote (US based) professional.
Protocol Networks has an opportunity for an experienced business development professional as a Senior Account Executive – Public Sector to further accelerate growth on a local and regional basis. Public sector, government contract and bidding experience is required. We are searching for a professional who is highly motivated, self-driven, goal oriented and focused on continuous improvement. The candidate must be willing to work independently in a demanding and dynamic environment. Due to the consultative nature of the sales process, candidates must also have extremely strong phone and communication skills, technical aptitude, relationship-building ability, cooperative inter-departmental team-building skills, as well as the strong desire to grow revenue, and learn the business.
This position is a full sales life cycle role: the position will be responsible for prospecting and setting up meetings with potential clients (mid to large sized businesses) to better understand the client’s IT Support needs, present Protocol Networks solutions, and ultimately solutions sell matching core services to the clients need. Due to the consultative nature of the sale, the candidate must have complex consultative selling experience with IT services, extremely strong relationship building skills along with demonstrable prospecting and closing ability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prospect and hunt for new business. Public sector will be main area of focus.
- Utilize online resources including SAM.gov to bid on government contracts.
- Manage and build a pipeline
- New prospect and customer follow-up.
- Develop and maintain relationships.
- Maintain knowledge on current technologies and services relevant to Protocol Networks solutions.
- Understand and articulate the company’s value proposition through a consultative sales approach.
- Proposal and quote presentation
- Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly goals
- Be an active and integral member of a dynamic team
- Self-directed continuous improvement of sales and technical knowledge
Requirements:
- Public sector, government contract and bidding experience
- Experience utilizing SAM.gov. System for Award Management.
- Experience and knowledge of other resources such as RI Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
- Service based sales experience.
- Strong hunter mentality
- Solution/consultative technology sales experience
- 3+ years experience with public sector sales and bidding on government contracts.
- 5+ years of IT Services based sales or selling technical solutions, preferred.
- Managed Services Provider experience, preferred
- Self-starter. Motivated by the opportunity to grow professionally, personally, and financially.
- Strong ability to develop professional rapport, overcome objections and persuade while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Exceptional communication, both written and oral, and organizational skills.
- College degree with technical or sales/marketing emphasis.
- Excellent grammar, written and oral communications skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Annual base salary range is flexible based on experience. Strong total compensation package in the $100,000-$200,000 range based on performance. Compensation package includes a strong salary plus performance-based commission compensation. Strong benefits package is offered.
