DMPA is expanding its Marketing Department and currently seeks a Group Sales Coordinator. This position will help grow sales revenue by connecting group customers with performances aligned with their interests and entertainment goals. Group types include, but are not limited to: Tour and travel, affinity, professional/employer, schools, churches and self-made groups.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Represent DMPA’s core values, vision, and mission.
- Contribute to the successful operation of DMPA by generating Group revenue
- Establish qualified leads, initiate and close sales for group customers, and respond to customer service inquiries and issues so as to maintain positive client relationships
- Operate toward annually confirmed goals in event tickets to corporations and organizations for events at DMPA venues, focusing on group to maximize revenue across all available programming
- Proactive outbound efforts through phone, face to face and social media possibilities to develop, engage and build successful client base
- Utilize CRM systems to enable accurate and efficient pipeline management
- Cultivate year-round servicing of clients to ensure successful renewal percentages and uncovering of additional new business opportunities
- Initiate efforts focused around maximizing revenues for prioritized DMPA events.
- Use experience to determine untapped group prospects and successfully develop ongoing, long-term relationships
- Assist with community ticketing program and eticket database
- Coordinate with marketing team to assist with sponsorships
- Navigate database software to maximize efforts with targeted groups
- Leverage sales history data and connections with popular events to create opportunities for group purchases
- Gain referrals from current buyers, moving contact relationship to the highest level to maximize group purchase volume
- Establish and foster long-term, positive working relationships within area, company, and group ticket purchasing contacts
- Maintain detailed records on purchase history and sales production
- Develop new strategies to improve group ticket purchases through partnership and collaboration with show representatives
- Communicate and negotiate with show promoters
- Work events as required/assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience. One to five years of general sales experience.

Physical Demand/Work Environment
Position is primarily seated at a desk in a traditional climate-controlled office setting. Work will be performed using a computer and corresponding monitors with much work requiring the use of a phone. Position will be primarily indoors with occasional need to be outside in weather that may be inclement, to obtain content coordinate/connect with artists or artist management.
Navigating Des Moines and surrounding communities to meet with sales leads is required.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Position will be in-office for much of training period, but potential for hybrid approach long-term.
