Key Objectives: The Account Manager (Outside Sales Representative) for the Southern Ohio Region is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration, within their assigned territory by effectively selling Triad products and service which are aligned with customer business needs. The successful candidate for this position, will develop and grow new business by identifying and developing strategic partnerships, which create long term value for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business.
- Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.
- Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
- Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
- Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
- Required to enter opportunities, activities and tasks weekly into CRM program.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
- Participates in trade shows, open houses, and other promotional type activities.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in business or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years sales experience in distributorship, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fluid power industry preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding product technical requirements and financial analytics including customer markets, P&L’s, manufacturing and material costs, and pricing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to take personal accountability to create and execute strategic sales goals.
- Demonstrated ability to represent the brand with integrity and professionalism in all business matters.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Must have a high level of proficiency in MS Office Products.
- Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 system a plus.
- Experience with a CRM program a plus.
- Ability to travel locally to see customers at least 70% of the time.
