Oakland Green Interiors (a division of Oakland Nursery) is building our sales & design team to include a Sales/Design Assistant. This new role will act as the support team in helping our design managers create and submit proposals to clients and customers. The sales assistant would work with our two current design managers, and with future sales team members as the department grows.

Key responsibilities would include:

• Using Photoshop, Illustrator, and PowerPoint to create visual sales presentations to accompany sales quotes (inserting images of plants and containers into photographs of existing spaces).
• Sourcing and ordering containers for exterior and interior planting projects
• Unpacking and sorting project materials to confirm order accuracy
• Sourcing and ordering interior plants (real and faux) for new sales projects, tracking those orders and confirming receipt
• Setting up purchasing terms with vendors
• Updating pricing and quantities of showroom samples, on sales templates, and other sales collateral
• Document installations through photography and share with marketing for promotions and social media
• Track and update client status and project information in our CRM
• Work with the Production and Installation teams to confirm that materials are in stock and ready to be installed
• Work with our Office Manager on billing and other administrative projects as needed
• Be willing to take on or attend networking/business development opportunities as they arise

Ideal candidates:

• Are comfortable working with Photoshop, Illustrator, or other photo manipulation software
• Have an eye for visual design and can interpret written or verbal instructions into visual displays
• Are self-motivated and eager to find new ways to solve problems and improve the sales to production process
• Are organized, methodical, task-oriented, and can prioritize projects
• Have strong professional communication skills (both written and oral) and can interact comfortably in professional settings
• Appreciate a good spreadsheet or tracking system
• Enjoy collaborating with others and helping clients and customers
• Are willing to try new things and jump into projects on an as-needed basis
• Have a clean driving record and can pass an at-hire drug screen
• Have a passion for plants, or at least a willingness to learn "right plant, right place" concepts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
