The Nursery/Landscape Sales Position is a full-time position with opportunity for an earned bonus program. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist walk-in landscape and green industry business customers with their plant selections
- Upsell additional green industry and horticulture products and services to customers onsite
- Input customer orders into point-of-sale computer system for walk in customers received via text, email, phone call
- Place customer orders from suppliers
- Send pictures of our plants and products to customers upon request or direct them to the pictures on the company website/portal
- Log customer interactions into Salesforce customer relationship management system (CRM)
- Back up on the following tasks: invoicing, receiving, transfers, spraying/ production tasks, answering the phones
Additional Responsibilities:
- Pull orders and Load Customers when needed
- Tagging Customer orders in the sales yard including field stock, container stock, annuals, shrubs, etc
- Order material for customers from preferred suppliers
- Read and Respond to sales and customer related Emails related depending on the situation/customer
- Answer Product Availability questions
- Seasonal work to include pruning and other work at the nursery
- Customer Retention
- Manage the customer relationship of currently established customers when they visit the DC’s
- Visit customers based on situation / customer
- Assist with unloading and set down of orders when needed
- Email invoices to customers if needed
Skills:
- Sales Pad Point of Sale software- executing sales transactions, closing
- Equipment operating skills (skidsteer, forklift, loader, delivery trucks)
- Computer skills including a focus on Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Salesforce
Knowledge:
- Horticultural/Plant care knowledge
- Landscape or green industry knowledge a plus
- Ability to communicate efficiently between customers and other employees
- Technical degree or any horticulture certifications a plus
Abilities:
- Qualified people skills and a desire to work with a wide range of customers
- Strong reasoning and problem solving mentality
- High level of emotional maturity
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work schedule
40-45/week July-February
45-50/week March – June (Some Saturdays Required)
Overtime will be paid for hours worked above 40 each week at the rate of 1.5 times the hourly wage
Pay Range $20-25 per hour
