General Responsibilities:

1. Development and management of programs to grow government sales.

2. Generate selling opportunities with new government prospects.

3. Generate selling opportunities to expand relationships in existing government customers.

Reports To: Director of Sales

Position Requirements:

1. Some completed college coursework or GED/AD and a minimum of two years related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in dealing with customers in the government sector, DLA/Dibbs/VSM/WAWF, Mil-std-129, or RFID tags.

2. Ability to communicate efficiently on the phones.

3. Ability to understand and operate within government sales program protocols.

4. Proficiency in standard Microsoft computer software programs, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

5. Ability to work independently and on a team, respond quickly to requests and work in a fast-paced environment.

6. Ability to create and support government related Sales and Marketing initiatives and programs.

7. Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

8. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, managers and government contacts – both orally and in written form.

9. Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and ability to make general calculations.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Under general direction, develop, coordinate and manage government programs related to federal, city, state and local and their contracts.

2. Use the phone and internet to identify and qualify new government entities to sell to.

3. Generate new selling opportunities within existing government customers to grow business.

4. Create and submit proposals and/or bids to drive government sales.

5. Respond to and follow up on inbound phone, web, and email inquiries from government entities to close business.

6. Utilize the company’s CRM system to report sales calls, manage sales pipeline, and provide customer and competitor inter in a timely manner.

7. Participate in meetings, trainings and other company-sponsored sales events as directed.

8. Grow sales skills, understanding of government programs and product knowledge through internal and external training.

9. Support sales and marketing campaigns via email and phone interactions to strategically target new and existing government customers for growth.

10. Assist in government customer support as needed.

11. Create, implement, and report on a government program plan with management to exceed sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or President.

Standards of Performance:

1. I am responsible for generating selling opportunities as assigned.

a. My performance is satisfactory when I:

i. Actively search internet for new government bids daily (DLA/Dibbs/VSM/WAWF).

ii. Place a minimum of (X) outbound phone calls per day.

iii. Make contact to have conversations with at least (X) buyers per day.

iv. Generate at least (X) selling opportunity per day which can be in the form of a new selling opportunity within a prospect or a new selling opportunity within an existing customer.

v. Based on these selling opportunities, I generate (X quotes, orders, sales)per month to support and drive government and company sales growth.

vi. I update all customer and contact information in WebConnect with the most up to date information found online and over the phone.

vii. I document my daily calls in WebConnect each business day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
