Position Description

This position is a remote role, open anywhere throughout the United States.

JOB SUMMARY

In partnership with senior leadership, own and govern volunteer facing digital products and product roadmaps in a customer centric structured product management lifecycle. Provide a consultive experience to pillar business partners and executive leadership to structure a product roadmap and advance the development of digital products and deliver to market and support. This position has accountability for the American Cancer Society to attain its strategic growth investment goals and business outcomes. This position will focus on the Sales teams, within American Cancer Society's Development Pillar. This includes Philanthropy, Planned Giving, Relationship Fundraising, Corporate Partners, as well as all field operations that support our Sales culture and processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages Project Managers, Business Analysts and vendor relationships
  • Responsible for capturing product requirements, managing product prioritization, managing product backlog, managing product roadmap, govern the product through a structured product management lifecycle with business partners
  • Responsible for managing products via a structured customer-centric product management lifecycle in which this position will also govern the product
  • Build effective relationships with pillar business partners and key MSS stakeholders
  • Ensure team produces thorough documentation on their products
  • Collaborate and coordinate input with ACS stakeholders across the enterprise to plan and deliver optimum products to market.
  • Create and validate documentation of functional and technical specifications for IT, providing direction and resources needed to deliver new or enhanced platform and system capabilities.
  • Establish, maintain and document scalable business processes to guarantee best practices in case, customer and data management.
  • Manage & facilitate key meetings/discussions with stakeholders including requirement sessions, prioritization, system demos, go-to-market strategy, user acceptance testing, end user training, and support model.
  • Refine current business processes for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assist in creating epics and stories to inform future development work and enhancements.
  • Ensure staff are trained and well-versed in new systems and/or new functionalities.
  • Gather and document business requirements for future enhancement and implementations.
  • Help build and drive ACS and IT strategy
  • Provide leadership in IT and help support and drive ACS Policies and directions
  • Change catalyst in IT culture to more consulting and solutioning with excellent customer service
  • Build a culture of collaboration including strong relationships both inside and outside of IT.
  • Be relevant on calls and make decisions on calls
  • Build a succession pipeline, and build growth plans for your staff
  • Delegate as appropriate to team members and empower them to make decisions in your absence
  • Review and meet SLAs for Tickets (ServiceNow), Tasks/User Stories (Azure Dev Ops) Projects and ensure they are delivered on time
  • Be accountable for making sure IT Documentation (policies, procedures, diagrams, etc.) is current, IT audits are seamless, IT systems have appropriate monitoring and IT environments have appropriate Disaster recover in place


Position Requirements

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

Minimum Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 8+ years in managing product lifecycle and resources in a product management team.
Managerial experience leading teams.
Solid understanding of the Sales cycle
Experience with Salesforce or relevant CRM platforms.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • Strong desire to learn about technology platforms and systems - both those currently in place and potential new solutions for ACS.
  • Ability to understand system interdependencies, making recommendations with a focus on the Society's full enterprise portfolio in mind.
  • Familiarity with the ACS volunteer structure, volunteer engagement strategy and our volunteer systems

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience working in product management and product lifecycle
  • Ability to work cross functionally, give clear direction, and foster strong relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience managing relationships with contractors, vendors or agencies.
  • Deep knowledge of and direct experience in ACS relationship management business processes.
The expected starting rate is $100,000-$120,000 annually. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
