Job Description:
Senior Engineering Manager with expertise and experience in developing and delivering system/software applications including Cloud Native.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of Bare Metal Cloud service involving Compute, Networking, Storage, etc infrastructure technologies.
- Manages a team of engineers who are experts in Cloud and infra technologies, and internal/external HPE partner integrations and relationships.
- Develop and deliver best in class Cloud software that provides differentiated Day-0, Day-1 and Day-2 experience for customers.
- Ability to analyze, design and manage a range of enterprise solutions.
Requirements:
- Provides direct and ongoing leadership for an organization that includes individual contributors designing and developing new products, solutions, enhancements and updates for bare metal cloud service.
- Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
- Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making
- Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
- Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including, hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.
- Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment of PaaS/SaaS software.
- Good understanding of Data Center and virtualization technologies – Compute, Networking, Storage, VMs, and Containers.
- Adept at managing customer relationships, capable of engaging in the business-level and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organization including, GM, CTO, Architects, and Executive Engineering Management.
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills.
- Strong team skills including the ability to lead and be a team player.
- Experience on a fast paced and agile environment and good understanding of agile software development tools & methodologies
- You have extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
- You have extensive experience in managing Software development projects using Agile development processes.
- You are adept with Agile/Scrum methods, CI/CD concepts, Software Release management, and Software Quality metrics.
- You have managed Software development projects, through the complete Software Development Lifecycle.
- You should be able to drive tasks / execution working with a varied set of teams.
- You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- You have demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
- You have the ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- You have worked on manageability software development - understand infrastructure level component dependencies/complexities (preferably from a solution perspective)
- You should be able to handle escalations, driving resolution/reporting/engagement/tracking with senior management chain.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- You have the ability to effectively communicate program management architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at business unit levels.
Education and Experience Required:
- University degree or equivalent experience required.
- Typically, 15 or more years of related work experience, including 5 or more years of people management experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and management.
- Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in managing human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
- Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
- Superior business acumen, technical knowledge of multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
- Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
