Summary:
The Inside Sales Assistant is responsible for supporting the salesforce from customer acquisition through order fulfillment and leads to sell binderholz manufactured mass timber products (mainly lumber) through his/her assigned customers/accounts and through newly developed accounts, throughout and outside the US. The primary purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and enhance customer relationships. Additionally, the inside sales assistant will act as the primary communication liaison between our field sales organization, our nationwide and international customers, and all binderholz operations in Europe.
Main Responsibilities:
- Initiate or coordinate customer contact with external sales managers, answer customer inquiries, maintain strong business relationships with customers and thus ensure excellent customer service worldwide.
- Assist within several areas like
- customer identification, qualification (e.g. update and maintain databases such as mailing lists, contact lists and client information),
- credit establishment (e.g. daily financial data entry, including accounts payable and receivable, and assist in managing sales order budgets),
- order entry (e.g. processing daily receiving’s and shipments, creating documentation, and invoicing),
- inventory control (e.g. general administration such as accurate and timely inventory management, scanning and digital filing) and
- product transportation logistics (e.g. handling logistics by truck, rail, and ocean container globally; arranging pickup/delivery appointments, freight, customs clearance and other required documentation to ensure on time delivery)
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product knowledge base of binderholz products in order to best support suppliers, customers and team members.
- Manage price pages/templates and quotes in conjunction with the sales director and sales managers.
- Communicate and coordinate price levels with customers and our sales force.
- Understand and sell to the organization’s capabilities and specifications.
- Qualify new accounts from a financial/credit perspective.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and the manufacturing facilities, providing timely and accurate information to both.
Essential Function and basic duties:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product knowledge base of binderholz products in order to best support suppliers, customers and team members.

Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience of Inside Sales, Customer Service Sales, Office Administration, or comparable experience
- High proficiency in MS Office, i.e. Excel and good experience with inventory database management or other ERP software
- Export Documentation and international shipping experience preferred
- Active, self-motivated, flexible personality with good communication skills and ability to work independently
- Team player with willingness to help out cross-functionally as needed
- Precise and detail oriented; highly organized
- Ability to complete a multitude of tasks related to the operation of a busy global business, meeting tight timelines
PLUS (Not Required):
- German or Spanish language skills are a plus.
