Position Type: Full Time

Job Shift: Day shift. However, position requires occasional availability in the evenings for activities with customers. Overtime and weekend work as needed, or as directed.

General Job Summary: To achieve customer satisfaction and repeat business by preparing sales quotes for customer's acceptance that are profitable and competitive. Ensuring the fulfillment of orders, maintaining good customer relations, providing ongoing customer service, and maintenance of established accounts.

Job Scope: Job has periods of complex work, and recurring work situations with variations from the norm. Operates from established and well-known procedures. Decisions are made within prescribed operating guidelines. Receives a moderate amount of supervision, with results reviewed by the Sales Manager daily. On the job training will result in an in-depth knowledge of the STELPlan business system, and all job-related internal functions of a steel service center.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with blue-print reading required.
• Project managing or estimating experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing or fabricating experience, metals industry sales experience preferred.
• Emphasis on structural steel estimating experience preferred; including review and analysis of material take offs.
• Effective verbal and listening skills required.
• Ability to work with diverse personalities using effective problem solving, negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills.
• Accustomed to using computers as tool for research and accomplishing work required. 10-key by touch preferred.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Strong general math skills required, with a working knowledge of algebra and geometry preferred.
• Basic skills in MS Office and online business operating systems.

Physical Requirements: Requires sitting for 1-2 hours at a time. Regular changes in work position including, but not limited to sitting, standing and walking. Frequent walks through plant facility, customer offices and production sites.

Job Conditions: Fast paced work environment, with pressure existing from regular daily deadlines, changing priorities and/or interruptions. Position requires interactions with diverse personalities and unpredictable behaviors from customers on a regular basis.

Hourly Rate: Undisclosed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
