Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Jr. Sales Manager to join the team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Jr. Sales Manager
- The Jr Sales Manager Level is responsible for effectively becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments and proactively prospecting/soliciting, generating, and closing on assigned accounts/territory business to positively impact hotel revenues.
- This is a training position designed to develop individuals into Sales Manager/Sr. Sales Manager position while experiencing and contributing to the hotel
- Use your property’s computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering rooming lists, blocking space, building accounts, and logging activities.
- Proactively drive top-line revenue for customary sales segments to include SMERF and Tour & Travel group, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. parties, sales blitzes, etc.
- Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
- Regularly contact existing accounts
- Attend daily hotel meetings.
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Housekeeping.
- Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
- Initiate and follow up on leads.
- Handle inquiries all inquiries.
- Meet and greet onsite contacts.
- Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities, and events.
- Operate the Sales Department within the established sales expense budget.
- Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to ensure that issues receive follow-up
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree (Or Higher): Preferred
- Hospitality Sales: 2 Years or More (Required)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous hotel front desk experience preferred
- Computer Knowledge/Skills: MS Office
- Highly focused and motivated
- Knowledge of LightSpeed is a plus
- Professional in appearance and presentation
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
