Full description of the position

SUMMARY:Primary duty of this position is to sell our company’s products and is responsible for assisting counter customers and phone in orders. Manage the yard crew to coordinate shipping and handling of sold products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Provide customer service to walk-in and call-in customers in order to obtain new customers and to increase the level of business from current customer accounts.
  • Coordinates intra-company transfers and customer deliveries of masonry and landscaping materials.
  • Works with prospects and established customers to price and secure orders; and then effectively follows up to assure that orders are fulfilled on a timely basis and that customers are well satisfied.
  • Monitors inventory levels and communicates to office staff.
  • Maintains current pricing information and achieves desired margins on sales secured.
  • Assist in maintaining sample boards, storage, and general housekeeping of the office.
  • Effectively communicates and responds to diverse customer environments and needs. Handles customer complaints and problems promptly and to the customer and company's satisfaction.
  • Develops appropriate product knowledge of other products offered by Company. Promotes and sells related Company products as these are introduced.
  • Participates in regional seminars and company workshops.
  • Maintains current information on the activities and products of competitors and maintains current market share/competitive products information.
  • Conducts all business transactions and customer relationships in a highly ethical manner. Works closely with customer accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Work Monday - Friday, except Saturdays in the construction season and as home shows, seminars, and other presentations are scheduled.
  • Operate forklift and load customer products as needed.
  • Assist with outside sales of all products.
  • Assists with maintenance of company assets. Performs other functions and duties as required or directed.

Extra consideration will be given to candidates with previous sales experience.
