POSITION SUMMARY
Leads Onboard Sales Representatives and Pre-Sales Retail Representatives to achieve and maximize sales margin objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Interview, hire, and train Onboard and Pre-Sales Retail Representatives.
- Reviews sales performance, sets representative individual goals to meet or exceed sales objectives; provides sales and customer service guidance to representatives.
- Train representatives on company procedures, including but not limited to, sales processes and safety procedures (DOT); perform internal audits regarding adherence to procedures.
- Negotiate directly with customers and assist the team in negotiating with existing accounts and generating new business.
- Gather and analyze sales information, such as sales, price, products per customer, spoilage, margins, inventory on hand vs sales, plan and execute sales plans for maximum performance.
- Maintain knowledge of routes / customers; ensure accounts are supported with the highest level of service, including servicing accounts personally if needed; troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years’ of driving/route sales supervision experience.
- One (1) year leadership experience
- Fully fluent in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in English (DOT requirement).
License/Certifications
- Valid driver’s license for state of residence, and vehicle insurance as required by state.
Preferred Qualifications
- Route sales supervision experience in the food products industry.
- Associates degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
- Experience using software such as SAP, SOL, BW Analyzer and High Jump.
- Knowledgeable of basic DOT regulations (straight trucks).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, must be able to communicate effectively both in person and on the phone.
- Ability to motivate team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to sit and drive for a full shift of at least 8 hours.
- Able to stand for at least 4 hours.
- Can repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds.
- Able to repeatedly move 75 pound load on a cart/hand-truck without assistance.
- Able to climb up/down, in/out of vehicle.
- Repeatedly lift and move 30 pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand-truck.
- Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34˚ F for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a time.
