HUNT Insurance Agency is seeking an experienced and skilled Personal Lines Insurance Producer to join our team of highly motivated insurance sales professionals in our Buffalo, NY office. The Personal Lines Insurance Producer is responsible for working with prospects and clients to assess their personal property insurance needs (personal risk exposures, home, auto, excess, etc.), providing the appropriate recommendations, and placing coverage. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of HUNT Insurance Agency, this individual is responsible for producing policies via leads generated by sales through HUNT Real Estate Corporation, as well as developing a referral network through our Real Estate branches. The successful candidate will possess strong communication, sales, and marketing skills, and have a demonstrated history of successful personal lines insurance sales.
Primary Functions:
Sales:
- Market and sell personal lines insurance: Property and Casualty
- Proactively contact Real Estate client leads to evaluate needs, recommend appropriate insurance, and place coverage
- Proactively market insurance services to HUNT Real Estate and external Real Estate Sales Professionals
- Identify and contact non-realty lead sources to assess, recommend, and secure appropriate insurance coverages
- Conduct annual coverage reviews to identify and cover additional risk exposures
- Execute account quotes, applications, endorsements, binders, and renewals
Relationship Building:
- Develop, foster, and maintain professional relationships with clients and prospects
- Develop, foster, and maintain professional relationships with HUNT Real Estate Corporation team members, Real Estate Sales Professionals, and Mortgage Lending Associates to maximize sales opportunities
Additional Responsibilities:
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication (including presentation) skills
- Excellent interpersonal, sales, and marketing skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Outstanding follow-up and organizational skills
- Thorough knowledge of all personal lines insurance, insurance agency operations, coverages, rates, markets, and applicable insurance laws/codes/regulations
- Working knowledge of risk assessment and management techniques
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Agency’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems (Applied Epic)
- Proficient with current office technology including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, computers, desk/cell phones, fax machines, etc.
- Valid Driver’s License
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New York State Property & Casualty or Personal Lines Insurance License required
- 3-5 years of personal lines insurance sales experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Local travel required (up to 50% of the time)

The starting base salary for this position is $50,000-$60,000 per year. This position is also eligible for additional incentive compensation (bonuses, commissions, etc.) based on pre-determined personal performance metrics. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, classification, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
