Full description of the position

Position: Sales – Utility Products

Immediate full-time position for a Sales position is available. Alexander's Contract Services has been in business since 1967 and provides Utility products and services for numerous Utilities, Water Districts and Municipalities throughout North America. As the Corporation is expanding and continuing to grow, we are looking for a highly-motivated and professional individual to join our Draper, Utah based team (Alexander’s Meter Reading Solutions). This individual will be an integral part of the Sales and management efforts to support our premier Utility Touch Read products, and, will direct the sales of our Brass Water Utilities Accessory products. This is a full-time position with work hours being Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the plans and strategies for developing business and achieving corporate sales goals in the Utility industry.
  • Provides Market and Sales strategy to capture new sales and clientele.
  • Administers and maintains updates, additions and corrections to corporate sales and support database.
  • Coordinates and prepares for industry tradeshows and user conferences.
  • Prepares reports, sales brochures, and other sale documents as required by sales team.
  • Provides Remote presentations, or travels to Prospect sites to present Alexander’s products and services.
  • Sends emails, faxes and news letters to prospects and customers.
  • Attends sales meetings as required by the sales department.
  • Takes initiative to create successful Marketing and Sales campaigns.
  • Maintains an attitude of professionalism, success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
  • Helps to manage customer expectations and contributes to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in department marketing activities to establish successful support, channel and partner programs.

Knowledge of:

  • Adheres to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Team participation concepts, particularly with sales account managers and marketing personnel.
  • General accounting and strong numerical skills.

  • General principles and practices used in Utility meter data capture operations, including software and hardware operational applications.
  • Use of customer relation management (CRM) and sales prospecting tools.
  • Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Principles and practices of customer service and customer interaction.
  • Effective communication skills and methods.
  • Follow corporate policy and procedures, as well as, safety practices.
  • Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers with knowledge of applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical databases

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Understand the processes of an effective sales cycle.
  • Participate in the preparation of effective and efficient responses to formal Bid and RFP requests.
  • Understand financial matters and requirements to follow good budget practices.
  • Manage administrator responsibilities to affect positive sales methods and techniques.
  • Make correct decisions that are in conformance with corporate goals and policy.
  • Be a supportive resource to other sales account managers and sales vice president.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company associates.
  • Anticipate issues and work out alternative methods to improve sales department processes.
  • Learn new concepts, processes, products and procedures.

Education / Training:

  • High School diploma required. Post high school education, prior sales and process management experience and training preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years successful sales and marketing experience, preferably in the utility services industry.
  • This position offers Internal advancement, medical insurance, 401(k), sick and vacation pay and performance incentives.

Salary:

  • $45,000 to $55,000 annually (based upon experience)
  • Commission and Performance Bonus available

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
