The Digital Sales and Marketing Director serves as a subject matter expert for all things digital across the media spectrum. The DSMD will have responsibility for helping drive and execute digital and print strategies to exceed revenue objectives across various partnerships and platforms. The DSMD will work directly with Leadership and Account Executives to provide training, guidance, and overall strategy for digital ad sales.
Key responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage a team of Digital Media Specialists and Digital Support Specialists helping them develop their skills and grow their careers.
- Develop strategic business plans to identify and grow digital and print sales across existing business partnerships.
- Foster growth with existing client base by leveraging brand assets through effective digital ad sales.
- Continually execute sales and marketing strategies to grow new advertising base across all digital and social platforms.
- Develop relationships with other leaders internally and externally, gathering and disseminating best practices.
- Work in partnership with audience development to continually improve how social media drives loyalty and subscriptions.
- Work with leadership on sponsorship opportunities for O&O platforms in addition to new e-commerce opportunities.
- Plans and implements integrated digital campaigns that support the organization’s overall marketing efforts.
- Supports and manages project plans for new digital opportunities, including timelines, budgets, and internal and external reviews as appropriate.
- Work with various partners and suppliers to ensure digital fulfillment is on track and completed within prescribed deadlines.
- Set frequent and consistent huddles and meetings with senior management to report on team performance and financial goals.
- Possess a comfort level in managing up within the organization and provide POVs to leaders who may have limited knowledge of digital media.
- Coordinate with senior management, and internal and external teams to share industry insights on pricing trends, research, campaign learnings, case studies and shifts in digital advertising.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Highly skilled and proficient in digital media sales, SEO, SEM, Social, Mobile and emerging technologies.
- A creative and innovative media talent that has a passion for developing and fostering growth across the mediascape.
- Possess a thorough understanding of how to use digital media to educate advertisers on what strategies and platforms are optimal for them to effectively reach, engage and inform audiences about their products and services.
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency of research tools.
- Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising as well as media concepts and terms.
- Proven record of success in leading full-service digital accounts and teams. Agency or previous media leadership strongly desired.
- Strong written, presentation, analytical, quantitative, and verbal skills.
- Tech savvy and equally balanced on emerging technology.
- Comfortable with setting high-level strategies and digging into the daily process by using analytics-based strategies to increase digital sales effectiveness and audience.
