New Program Development Director – Sylvan Learning of Iowa

Sylvan Learning of Iowa is looking for a motivated and seasoned salesperson to connect our amazing programs to schools, organizations and businesses. The right candidate will possess strong sales skills – connections in the community – a passion for making a difference in children’s lives – and the ability to execute programs.

The opportunities are everywhere including every district in Iowa. The Director of New Program Development’s main focus will be to develop, foster and create relationships for offsite programming and virtual learning. This will be done through local marketing, public

relations activities, business-to-business marketing/sales, relationship development, grant usage, parent-pay options and more.

In addition to duties assigned within this Schools/Businesses Division, the position will also seek out corporate partnerships to secure business for the Iowa-based Sylvan centers.

Sylvan of Iowa is a family-owned business. The growth potential for this position is huge. This will be done by expanding current Title 1 contracts, gaining new contracts with school districts, finding partnerships and expanding employee benefit programs with businesses and organizations like booster clubs and non-profits.

This division of Sylvan of Iowa must also work in tandem with our four retail centers located across Iowa.

The successful candidate will be extremely organized and able to lead a team to execute all programs. This includes overseeing the implementation and completion of programs once contracts are secured. Those duties include: hiring; training; purchasing and inventorying equipment; ordering materials and quality assurance.

The marketing of our programs is essential through conventions, groups and networking. A strong sales acumen and process is critical to success in this position.

This position is both business, education, customer service and sales wrapped up into one.
