SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for organizing, planning, and directing all business member services to maximize profitability and growth for both entities. Proactively seeks new deposits and loans while building member relationships. Develops and implements business lending policies and operational procedures. Ensures the execution of strategies to grow market presence while delivering the credit union’s vision, mission, and value to the communities and markets we serve, demonstrating the values reflected in our K.E.G. of Excellence.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for crafting a full suite of banking solutions for new business relationships that include loan and deposit products in addition to full service personal banking products for their employees.
- Provides training, guidance, and support to the Retail Banking Team on prospect and Member calls.
- Develops and leads podcasts, media events, and business financial education opportunities within the community and education sectors.
- Proactively generates referrals through existing members, centers of influence and professional networking associations.
- Provide value added service to existing members to facilitate the expansion of relationships and garner referrals from business owners and professionals.
- Prepare detailed call plans and post call reviews to ensure that member needs are identified and met.
- Communicate with prospects and members to proactively collect and complete financial packages for new and maturing loan requests.
- Meet with prospective and existing members to make qualitative judgments with regard to business acumen, management capabilities, key performance indicators, skillsets, and expertise.
- Review loan policy on an ongoing basis to ensure that loan requests are consistent with OTCU risk tolerance and exceptions are documented and managed appropriately.
- Review financial packages to ensure that requests have merit and historical financial performance; ensure project support the request.
- Develop and manage a Business Banking Team/commercial loan admin and third-party partners to coordinate new/renewal loan application and closing process.
- Prepares presentations to loan committee for approval review.
- Proactively manages loan portfolio to process renewals in a timely manner; ensure loan
covenants are compliant and past due loans are properly managed.
- Attends business development opportunities and events.
- Complete all required regulatory training.

- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong general business acumen
- Ability to think strategically, assessing and determining ways to grow business via business
banking products and services, and new business development
- Displays professionalism in appearance and demeanor
- Must be comfortable networking, socializing, and interacting with all levels of hierarchy
- Highly competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Abrigo-Sageworks and MeridianLink, a plus
- Exposure to the beer industry and beer enthusiasts, a plus
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, management,
public relations, or related field is preferred.
- Five to seven years of lending or sales experience in the financial services industry
- Three to five years of experience in commercial lending, preferred
- Minimum of five years’ experience managing and developing employees
- Ability to attend business development events outside of regular business hours – nights and
weekends
- Must possess a current driver’s license with no restrictions
