The high risk account management director owns, manages and develops high risk account management strategies to achieve loss mitigation objectives. The strategies and treatments include, but are not limited to, high risk credit line decreases, inactive account closures and payment holds. This position requires analytical skills, strategic thinking, high risk account and exposure management knowledge, and an ability to balance risk/rewards objectively with customer-centric mindset.
Essential Functions:
- Owns, designs and manages high risk account management strategies to achieve loss mitigation objectives.
- Assesses and recommends changes to strategies, policies, practices and controls for Merrick credit portfolio.
- Develops quantitative risk framework and ensure these strategies drive strong financial performance and risk controls.
- Designs test and learn framework. Establishes ongoing review and monitoring of performance and profitability of the strategies.
- Works with risk oversight, lending operations and IT to support the launch and execution of the strategies with strong controls.
- Analyzes portfolio patterns and trends at granular segment level, and conducts data driven analysis using SAS and SQL to isolate high risk population.
- Manages necessary documentation and procedures consistent with an audited environment. Responsible for overseeing functional compliance with Bank policies, audit controls, and regulatory requirements.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations:
- Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
- Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s in quantitative discipline such as, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Statistics Machine Learning, Business Intelligence or Financial Engineering is required.
- Five (5) years of heavy analytics, statistics or equivalent experience in Credit Card Industry or Consumer Finance. Exposure in high risk control or exposure management programs is required.

- Familiarity with risk analytic techniques
- Ability to work across multiple lines of business and effectively prioritize tasks
- Excellent problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
