Full description of the position

The Counter Sales Clerk/Associate is responsible for attending to walk-in customers and answering parts counter telephone calls. This position will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting technical requirements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ø Sales administration duties are performed accurately and on time

Ø Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.

Ø Conduct ongoing customer needs, analysis and research of customer requirements.

Ø Participate in sales meetings and take responsibility for sales improvement initiatives and other assigned action items.

Ø Answers telephones, fax and e-mail inquires in a timely manner

Ø Fills orders and communicating expected delivery date

Ø Accomplishes individual, department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Ø Cooperate with counter sales lead and other department heads to determine essential strategies for sales.

Ø Provide customer service for the service department with shop work by checking in and checking out equipment.

Ø Restock front end with parts, tools and supplies.

Ø Keep area clean and organized

Ø Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License

Ø Clean driving record and background check

Ø Proficient in MS Office and other computer applications

Ø Able to read, interpret and explain sales orders and inventory reports.

Ø Establish and maintain tactful, courteous, and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the general public.

Ø Possess a sense of urgency

Ø Excellent attendance record

Ø Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Ø Highly organized with attention to detail

Ø Work well in a team environment

Ø Good organizational, leadership, focus, and time management skills in a rapidly changing and fast pace environment with minimal or no supervision.

Ø Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy of reporting

Ø Must be efficient and organized to handle multiple task assigned at the same time.

Ø Must be able to work overtime, holidays, nights and weekends when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Ø High School or GED equivalent

Ø Customer service experience a plus

Ø Product knowledge or industry experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ø Office area and warehouse area

Ø Standard 40 hours a week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour
