The New Business Development Manager is responsible for helping grow our customers by finding new opportunities, researching leads, establishing relationships with current customers, potential customers and arranging appointments and setups for new customers. Collaborate with Director, General Manager, Office Manager, and Warehouse Manager; as well as Sales/Warehouse Associates and Delivery Drivers to ensure that our current customers have the highest satisfaction and the ability for further customer growth.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Holds regular sales representatives’ meetings
- Observe the performance of sales representatives and delivery drivers in the field on a regular basis
- Obtains profitable results through the sales team by planning, motivating, monitoring, counseling, appraising, developing skills and increasing product knowledge
- Performs sales forecasting activities and sets goals accordingly
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance, researching and recommending new opportunities, recommending profit and service improvements
- Meets with key customers, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals with new customers
- Visit’s customers weekly to monitor the quality of service they are receiving, report findings to necessary personnel
- Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) all customer complaints
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
- Seek potential new customers through cold calls or visits
- Assist in coordinating delivery schedule and routes for delivery drivers
- Product knowledge within Mighty Auto Parts and outside vendors such as tools, preventative maintenance products, and all other products that the warehouse provides
- Knowledge with point-of-sale programs that sales associates and delivery drivers use to assist troubleshoot issues that occur
- Understand the job duties of the sales associates as well as delivery drivers to give the best assistance when needed
- Understand the Mighty point of sale system to perform the following but not limited to, creating new customer creating quotes, creating orders as well as invoicing orders
- Answer phone calls to assist customers with their needs, sales associates, delivery drivers, or other employees about orders
- Ability train on Mighty Products and equipment to increase the knowledge of sales associate and clients
Job Requirements
- 2+ years as a successful “hunter” with cold call experience
- Consistent follow up skills
- Valid drivers’ license with clean driving record.
- Lift at least 50 pounds or more
- Successful career in automotive parts sales with outside sales experience
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Extensive knowledge in tire repair, under car, under hood, and chemicals
- While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands, stretch or reach with hands or arms. Work in awkward positions, transfer oneself from one work level to the next. Move inventory from one height to another. It may also regularly require to sit, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend and or crawl.
