Inside Sales Representative
An Inside Sales Representative’s position is primarily to increase the Shop’s inside sales and to support the Outside
Sales Representative when necessary. This responsibility should always focus on increasing the Shop’s sales, drawing in
new customers and contacts, maintaining Shop accounts, expanding our penetration into existing accounts, and being a
positive front and/or second line to our customers.
Responsibilities
Has a thorough knowledge of all AlphaGraphics products and services, production processes, capabilities, and
pricing
Maintains a professional appearance
Ensure all clients have a positive business experience
Can easily provide customer with the benefits they will experience when using our products and services (might
be duplicated below in the value-added area)
Consults with customers to help them make decisions; up sells when there are opportunities
Captures customer’s specifics using “Job Analysis” questions
Asks probing questions
Reviews customer’s proofs, faxes; calls customers when jobs are ready
Creates job estimates that are prepared in a timely manner, professionally presented and carefully reviewed for
job pricing and accuracy
Routinely resolves customer inquiries and complaints
Displays necessary mastery of Point of Sale application to effectively create and price customer projects.
Maintains current pricing strategies (new business matrix, letterhead/envelope matrix, etc.) and customer billing
procedures
Creates and maintains customer artwork files
Assists in updating mailing list database by calling for updated information
Assists sales rep functions and inside production when requested
Pursues customer leads and follows up
Follows up on targeted direct mail or local Shop mailings
Learn customer business priorities
Provide value added information and recommendations to provide solutions
Keep customer informed by telephone regarding their job’s progress
Maintains a proactive response to potential client concerns and contacts the client before a problem is
encountered
Develops customer’s trust by taking interest in the success and timely completion of their projects
Maintains all sales logs and contact records and required documentation
Effectively manages all communication methods currently available to them to respond timely to customer
inquiries (pager, voice-mail in-Shop, voice mail cell phone, and/or e-mail)
Completes Certified Print Specialist program
Completes Digital Certification program
Qualifications
Has a proven record of customer service and/or sales
Knowledge of printing and prepress requirements a plus
Possesses a solid knowledge of POS system and order entry processes
Has ability to secure and maintain customer’s trust and confidence
Handles all communications with customers in a professional and respectful manner
Strong analytical skills (break projects into steps or sets)
Excellent writer and verbal skills
Customer Service Representative (CSR)
The CSR is the front line of communication for the Shop. The CSR must be professional in appearance with a genuine
concern for the customer. The CSR must be aware of Shop services and benefits of these services to the customer.
CSR will understand that his/her role is to increase sales, draw in new customers, retain our customer base via excellent
customer service and product knowledge, and must recognize their importance as a ‘front line’ contact with our
customers.
Responsibilities
Properly greets the customer in person or over the phone
Properly processes callers through the Shop phone system
Is thoroughly familiar with the AlphaGraphics Customer Bill of Rights
Identifies customer printing and duplicating needs
Recommends additional value-added services
Quotes turnaround from the “standard turnaround chart”
Accurately enters correctly priced estimates and orders in POS System
Follows up on estimates, asks for orders
Enters orders in POS system
Handles cash, check, or credit card transactions and deposits at front counter
Verifies order accuracy and pricing
Notifies customers when order is completed
Assists self-serve customers and Key-Op as needed
Handles customer complaints; forwards to management when appropriate
Maintains front counter cleanliness, preparedness checklist
Maintains front counter filing systems
Logs new customer contacts for future follow up
Maintains customer artwork files
Takes complete messages for team members
Refers customers to inside sales rep when appropriate
Trains to become competent back-up during vacations and illnesses
Develops customer’s trust by taking interest in the success and timely completion of their projects
Trains to become a Certified Print Specialist
Completes Digital Certification
Qualifications
Possesses a good personality – loves working with people
Experience in the printing industry a plus
Enjoys fast-paced working environment – ability to “multi-task”
Shows mastery of basic math skills
Has basic computer experience; ability to learn Point of Sales (POS) software for entering orders, estimates, and
front counter transactions
Demonstrates and utilizes courteous telephone skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
