The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for coordinating all tax filings and projects with our external tax team, as well as preparing Sales and Use Tax returns in compliance with state and local laws.

This could be a full time or a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week.

What does the job entail?

• Interface with external audit and tax teams on all tax related matters including federal and state extensions, final returns, tax provisions, and the like.
• Assist in various tax projects as assigned focused on opportunities for tax efficient business practices and decision making including annual R&D tax credits project.
• Research, evaluation, and documentation of state and local sales tax requirements to ensure timely compliance with ever changing regulations.
• Review sales & use tax compliance, recommend process improvements, and implement functional change.
• Preparation of state and local Sales and Use Tax returns ensuring all returns are filed timely and accurately.
• Independently conduct assigned tax-related research. Draft memoranda with supporting conclusions supported by relevant research findings.

What previous experience and skills would benefit this position?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Active CPA
• 4+ years tax experience with a national or large regional accounting firm
• Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
• Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
• Very strong attention to detail
• Research and resolve technical tax issues.
• Prepare technical memoranda, matrices, and other deliverables.
