Position Title: Group Sales Representative

Job Details:

Looking for an exciting seasonal sales job, with benefits? Do you have a strong commitment to excellent customer service? Are you outgoing and organized? If so, then a position in Del Mar’s Group Sales department is for you! Group Sales is responsible for booking group reservations and ensuring all clients have an enjoyable day at the races. Duties to include, but are not limited to, selling group packages, answering phone and email inquiries about services, processing credit card orders, printing and mailing event tickets, and meeting all client needs. Must be able to work five days per week, which may include weekends and holidays during our summer racing season.

Time Commitment:

Five Days a Week (est. 35-40 hours week), seasonal, non-exempt

Start Date: February until the end of the Summer Race season (est. 7 months annually)

2023 Summer Racing season: July 21– September 10, 2023

End Date: September 10 (after the races)

Position Reports To: Jeremy Laabs, Group Sales Manager

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

General office skills, credit card processing and sales experience preferred

Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, you must be friendly, outgoing, and energetic with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Present, promote and sell Group Sales services to existing and prospective customers

Answer a heavy volume of sales calls and email inquiries regarding pricing and services

Sales duties include issuing reservation agreements, order forms, invoices, and receipts

Online processing of credit cards, and following up on billing inquires, is an advantage

Knowledge of Windows operating system, and competency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook is required; emailing with attachments is a must.

Responsible for the printing and mailing of group tickets

Give client tours of all Group Sales areas and facility grandstand

Be a major point of public contact and team player

Substitute as a restaurant host/hostess and be able to handle crowds and escort guests to assigned seating areas or as a Will Call window attendant, patience, organization and attention to detail are a must while issuing tickets

Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time

Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license

Hourly Rate: $18.50 per hour Benefits: Health, dental and vision insurance
