The Opportunity
As a Business Development Manager, you will develop an in-depth understanding of buyer needs, key market trends, and the competitive landscape and help bring our services to market within target verticals. In partnership with your Commercial Team counterparts, you will ensure that all inbound and outbound sales and marketing efforts are on message and targeted at the appropriate accounts and buyer groups—and you will share the responsibility of building pipeline across a group of target accounts.
Responsibilities
- Influence the creation of a cohesive go-to-market strategy for new customer acquisition
- Conduct research of potential customers, actively connecting with prospective customers through network connects, social media, direct outreach, and other avenues as may present
- Manage pipeline and ensure the integrity of data through the accurate and timely entry of data into WillowTree systems such as [please apply online] Linkedin Sales Navigator, and Outreach.io.
- Help articulate and evangelize WillowTree's point of view within a vertical by leading the ideation, development, and syndication of thought leadership content
- Utilize account intelligence and data to craft relevant and timely messaging to our key account contacts
- Be an expert on the competitive landscape and help shape positioning and messaging strategy for your vertical
- Closely collaborate with our Business Development VPs to crystallize a vertical's ideal customer profile and build target account lists
- Apply a consultative and value-based sales approach during customer engagements to uncover customer success and new business opportunities
- Work closely with our marketing team to execute account-based marketing strategies
- Understand your customer's digital transformation and growth marketing strategies to develop the highest impact plan for partnering with WillowTree's key practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, marketing, or lead generation
- Understanding of segmentation strategies, developing buyer groups, articulating customer pain points, and crafting client-facing messaging
- Ability to manage a complex sales cycle with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers across different business lines
- Willingness to learn in an ever-changing business and technical environment
- Autonomous self-starter who thrives on a team where initiative and innovation are celebrated and rewarded
- The ability to learn complex marketing technologies and apply them to business situations
Bonus Points
- High technical aptitude and familiarity with the software development problem space
- Familiarity with Braze, Amplitude, mParticle, Branch, Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce, Linkedin Sales Navigator, Outreach.io or similar growth marketing tools.
- A history of working at or with marketing, advertising, or technology agencies
