UCCS is seeking an Executive Director for Strategy and Partnerships to support the University’s achievement of its strategic goals and initiatives and to connect the University with public and private sector organizations in the achievement of mutually objectives. The Executive Director will bring together stakeholders in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to leverage UCCS’s resources, to develop its academic programs, to generate critical funding for its research and educational mission, and to achieve its strategic goals and initiatives.
The Executive Director will conceptualize, launch, and manage a strategy that will align UCCS talent with the needs of the University and the needs of the broad community. The role will support collaboration within the university, including among the academic units, with particular emphasis on research and creative work, and between university development and other both administrative and academic units in the accomplishment of the University’s strategic goals. The Executive Director will increase awareness of UCCS’s role in regional economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurship while addressing business development needs and increasing public-private partnership activities.
This role requires strategic leadership and management skills, the ability to create strong relationships within the regional business and nonprofit community, and local and state government, as well as internal relationships with the schools and colleges. Collaborating closely with the schools and colleges and the University Advancement office, this role will help create a market proposition to connect student talent as well as faculty and student research and creative work with the public, private and governmental sectors. The Executive Director will help open opportunities for innovative partnerships, including technology transfer, that increase business support of the UCCS mission.

YOU HAVE
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in related field.
5 years of experience in a private or public sector -leadership role, including experience with business development, corporate partnerships, strategic planning, external relationships, or program development & oversight.
A demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity & equity across multiple positions and functions.
YOUR WORKPLACE
You will have the option to work partially remote or fully on campus, as determined by your supervisor. Temporary or permanent on-campus workspace will be allocated based on your work schedule.
You will generally be expected to work Monday through Friday 8 AM-5 PM MT. However, you may coordinate a flexible or alternate work schedule through your supervisor.
Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.
YOUR PAY
The anticipated hiring range for you: $114,012 - $162,875. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. This salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
5 years of experience in a private or public sector -leadership role, including experience with business development, corporate partnerships, strategic planning, external relationships, or program development & oversight.
A demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity & equity across multiple positions and functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in public administration or Business Administration or similar track
3 years of experience developing and managing complex partnerships that integrate the strengths of the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
3 years of experience in creating and negotiating public-private partnerships (P3s).
3 years of experience in economic development at the local or state level.
3 years of experience in negotiating and closing complex transactions at the C-Suite level.
