Outside Sales Representative in Milan, IL
Responsibilities
This position reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for territory revenue, existing accounts and new business development efforts.
Develop annual revenue plans, including budget creation and management
Forecast of and management to monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals (new accounts, expansion of existing accounts, and potential attrition)
Direct customer development and support of major accounts as needed=
Maintain and grow customer base
Develop and execute marketing strategies and sales initiatives.
Liaison with designated marketing agency/consultant to coordinate marketing, advertising and communications for website, collateral materials, target and direct marketing, with said sales team
Ensure effective utilization of Customer Relationship Management tools
Handle assigned territory for new accounts and house accounts
Required Skills & Experience
Seasoned leader with experience developing a team, managing revenue projections and successfully growing company revenue through strategic sales initiatives
Proven history of success selling and developing relationships in an industrial, manufacturing or highly mechanical industry
Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills, including effective prospective sales rep interviewing techniques
Demonstrated ability to solve customer problems with question-based inquiry and overcoming objections
Demonstrated written communication skills with C-Level peers, mid-level management prospects and customers
Demonstrated knowledge of multiple sales channels for a given product/service and the appropriate nuances of prospecting and communicating with various channels
Demonstrated public speaking skills to groups of 20 or less
Demonstrated ability to navigate, pull reports from, and effectively utilize a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software tool (e.g. Salesforce, Highrise, Goldmine, other)
Maintain sales rep job description and career opportunity advertising copy for sales reps
Demonstrated expertise at using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Ability to take legible photographs and share readily
Knowledge of DOT trucking/hauling/reporting/vehicle maintenance requirements, penalties and salesmen/driver oversight
Working knowledge of how to integrate e-mail, pdfs, images and related digital assets on desktops, laptops, smart phones, and tablets
Travel as needed
Ability to obtain Class C non-CDL (Illinois) or Class D non-CDL (Iowa) driver’s license depending on state of residence within three months of employment
Will have exposure to extreme cold or hot working conditions in customer plant locations.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion
