Full description of the position

St. Killian is a full-service importer, providing all 50 states with world-class beers and malt beverages from around the globe.
We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager - West. This individual will be responsible to oversee the successful sale and distribution of products in the St. Killian Importing Portfolio in assigned area.

Candidate must reside in Los Angeles County.

OBJECTIVE: Manage and grow business within the territory base (CA, NV, AZ, NM). To oversee the successful sale and distribution of products in the St. Killian Importing Portfolio in assigned territory. This individual will act as the primary liaison between St. Killian and its wholesalers in the assigned territory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Build and execute annual business plan meetings for wholesalers in assigned territory
  • Manage volume, revenue, gross profit and expenses in assigned region
  • Monitor wholesaler inventory on a daily basis to ensure wholesale customers have appropriate stock levels
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with management, distributors, to facilitate the effective development and execution of programs and business initiatives
  • Establish distribution, display, feature ad, retail promotion, and space management objectives that produce the effective presentation of the brands to the consumer at the point of purchase
  • Communicate information to management with recommendations that will contribute to the development of brands, sales growth, and distributor effectiveness
  • Track identified metrics (sales, distribution, display, POS, etc.), providing timely performance reports
  • Identify leads, manage prospects, acquire new business and grow points of distribution
  • Work with wholesaler to ensure all chain commitments are delivered
  • participate in the execution of events such as samplings, beer dinners, and craft beer education presentations for customers and consumers
  • Assist in managing and monitor pricing in the region to ensure profitability targets are being achieved
  • Manage and stay within region trade spending budget
  • Evaluate competitive brand in-market consumer and pricing activity (PTR and PTC) and report back to National Sales Director as needed
  • Manage post-off and promotional schedule


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lead and develop a team of sales professionals in order to achieve goals
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long term relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to generate and deliver sales presentations as interpret and compile IRI data effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive understanding of volume, revenue, gross profit and expense management
  • Proficiency in business trade math (margin, mark up, inverse margin, blended margin, breakeven, draft profit, and pour costs)

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Management, or related field
  • Certified Beer Server
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience working closely with a national sales force is required
  • Valid and clean driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability and willingness to work independently
