*Sales & Use Tax Supervisor*
**
The Opportunity: *Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.*
Supervises and reviews the Sales and Use Tax returns for state and local jurisdictions and ensures timely
and accurate filing. Completes all tax related accounting, supervises new and existing business licensing and working on state compliance audits. Handles complex systems issues including new systems initiatives and participates in multi divisional/departmental meetings to ensure compliance with the latest sales and use tax requirements. Provides training and guidance to accountants on new procedures, audits, and systems.

Supervises and reviews state and local Sales and Use Tax returns in accordance with government tax laws for all TJX domestic divisions/eCommerce using Vertex Indirect Tax Return Software and ensures all returns are completed and filed timely and accurately.

• Supervises and reviews account reconciliations, use tax review, resale certificates, and journal entry postings for year-end close.
• Oversees and completes business and food licensing for new stores and manage the renewal process for business license renewals.
• Drives state and local sales and use tax audits and business license audits including generating reports, detail reviewing schedules, negotiating, and working with state and local tax auditors.
• Assists in various specific tax projects as assigned which may involve research and compliance in sales tax, business licenses and general ledger accounting, etc.
• Participates in systems projects including Ecommerce, New POS, Vertex, and in-house projects.
• Works closely across multiple departments on various system projects and tax issues.
• Special projects as assigned.

Who We Are Looking For: *You.*

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in taxes/finance with up to 2 years supervisory experience
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
• Excellent organizational, written, and analytical skills
• Excellent ability to multi-task
• Understanding of accounting principles
• Detailed knowledge of Excel and Word and the ability to build moderately complex spreadsheets
• Strong ability to learn new and existing software and systems
