WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is engineering support of the nVent ERICO and nVent ERIFLEX brand product lines to internal and external customers in North America. The history of the ERICO brand dates back to 1903, when the Electric Railway Improvement Company was founded to supply power bonds, signal bonds and related welding equipment to railroads, mining and street railway industries. Today nVent ERICO offers a large range of products designed to support facility electrical protection into many industries including rail, telecom, utility, commercial and industrial. nVent ERIFLEX is an established brand that is growing rapidly with the electrification of everything. (E-mobility, Energy Storage, Renewable Energy) nVent ERIFLEX products are low voltage power distribution components and conductors designed for space-saving capabilities.

The position entails significant contact with employees across many functions including Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply, Sales, Technical Support, and Marketing. This role supports external customers, specifying engineers, designers, channel-partners, installers, contractors and end-users with the proper selection, installation, and application of nVent ERICO and ERIFLEX products.

IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:

• Join a team of engineers and designers supporting the ERICO and ERIFLEX brands
• Use your technical skills and product knowledge to support team members across the organization including; Product Management, Product Development, Supply, Quality, and Sales.
• Impact the daily operations and sales of the business
• Create, check and approve engineering drawings and specifications
• Assist customers in the proper selection and application of ERICO and ERIFLEX products.
• Identify opportunities to provide modified products and/or engineered assemblies based on customer specifications and application requirements
• Join project teams working on product development and sustaining projects (Feature enhancements, cost reduction, product consolidation and line extension). Will have the opportunity to be the project leader for some projects.
• Define test plans to support general product and/or specific applications performance. Work with lab engineers and technicians to complete the desired testing.
• Grow into a true subject matter expert on ERICO and ERIFLEX products and their end-use application.
• Review training literature for technical accuracy including installation guides and procedures, operations manuals, and online learning management systems (LMS).
• Visit customer sites to promote the proper use of nVent ERICO and ERIFLEX products and assist wiith voice of customer (VOC) activities.
• Support the development of various design, quoting and inspection tools.

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
• Ideally, 0-5 years of experience in an engineering position
• Skills:Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills

Strong in-person and virtual communication skills with direct customers, engineers, and internal colleagues
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment in a self-directed manner
Time management / prioritization skills that enable you to manage multiple tasks/projects at the same time.
Knowledge and understanding of electrical assemblies with a focus on applications, sales, and support
Familiar with Electrical Lab equipment such as generators, measurement instruments, and tools
Ability to identify product and/or installation requirements from relevant codes and standards

• Preferred Skills:Project Management skills

Experience relating to electrical power systems, electrical connectors or other electromechanical products
Awareness of electrical design and safety standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL)
Knowledge of NFPA 70 – National Electrical Code

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
