Advertising Salesperson for Hyperlocal Weekly Paper

The Gabber Newspaper, a hyperlocal weekly paper covering South Pinellas from our office in Gulfport, Florida, seeks a salesperson to grow our business.

The position starts on a commission basis (15% of sales) with opportunity to replace the current sales director, who would really like to retire.

The ideal candidate will take time to understand our readers and advertisers; we will provide office and contract support – your job is to bring in the business in a meaningful, sustainable way. The money here is in smaller ads with longer runs, not full pages or three-week campaigns. This means it can may take you a few months to build up a decent paycheck, so the successful candidate will be prepared for that.

Sales experience not necessary, but it helps. Industry experience not required, but appreciated.

This is not a from-your-home job. You will need to meet potential advertisers at their place of business, so it's probably a good idea that you live close to the paper.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
