Mikro Systems at Pratt & Whitney in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for the development and execution of growth strategies in support of key business objectives. This position plays a crucial role in leveraging Mikro’s advanced manufacturing technology to drive value across the enterprise. This will be accomplished by monetizing Mikro’s capability in Aerospace or adjacent markets and by identifying internal applications for generating measurable cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal program leaders and Executives to identify business opportunities and use cases for adopting Mikro’s technology.
  • Negotiate and compromise to influence internal and external parties to accept concepts and approaches to resolve their business needs.
  • Acquire detailed knowledge of internal and external customer needs and behaviors; Utilize these insights to create and deliver compelling value propositions.
  • Service customer inquiries for both existing and new products.
  • Engage with prospective customers and business partners through direct meetings, conferences, and industry associations.
  • Conduct research to stay abreast of industry and technology trends to help inform strategic direction.
  • Develop and provide analytics for strategic planning cycles.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop technology/product roadmaps to meet future customer needs and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Work effectively with technical teams across all disciplines throughout development lifecycles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS and 10+ years of experience in Business Development OR
  • Advance Degree and 7+ years of related experience.
  • US Citizen due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-functional teams and projects.
  • Proven track record of building strategic relationships and converting leads into business value.
  • Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form; Ability to persuade people and communicate at an Executive level.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with building business cases, financial forecasts, and valuation models.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technology and operations.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
