Job Description Summary:
This important Business Development position will focus on building relationships with new accounts. In addition to creating and maintaining an effective relationship, the Key Account Manager for new accounts will make presentations to introduce products, solve problems, provide brand education, training, promotional ideas, and effective communication to ensure company, supplier and account objectives are met. Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet with owner/manager for each of your assigned accounts. Develop effective relationships and communication with each.
- Present RNDC brands to each account and provide brand education and unique “story” for core suppliers and niche products relevant to the account.
- Work to increase brand POS visibility, well & back bar presence, menu placements, spirit listings, wines By the Glass and By the Bottle, catering menus, etc.
- Offer and conduct educational training to kitchen & bar staff, wait staff, management, etc.
- Meet with RNDC divisions and teams on a regular basis to educate and share best practices.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and utilize supplier resources to accomplish goals.
- Share your insights, industry events and local happenings with leadership team.
- Survey market area to detect emerging business trends and opportunities for new products or new applications for existing products.
- Communicate opportunities and market intelligence with appropriate management.
- Promote brands and increase brand awareness within assigned accounts.
- Monitor and achieve relevant New Account KPIs.
- Prepare and maintain required paperwork, reports, and records.
- Some business travel may be required.
- Working nights and some weekends will be required. Attending hard and soft openings for new accounts and participating in promotional events is critical.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:
Four year college degree and one to two years of management experience in beverage alcohol industry is preferred. At least four to six years of sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry is also preferred. A strong understanding and experience with ultra-premium and luxury segments of alcohol beverage is necessary for success in this role.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean DMV record.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must be able to adequately use Microsoft Office Suite for e-mail, PowerPoint presentations, sales sheets, reports, trackers, etc., to complete work in a reasonable amount of time.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
Solid understanding of business analytics and ability to read, interpret & report business data.
Good presentation skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, such as RNDC personnel, suppliers, customers, and consumers.
Must be able to use or learn to use industry-specific software to accomplish ordering, order tracking, inventory, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – (These are required to perform the key responsibilities of the job with or without accommodations).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on a regular basis.
Must be able to drive a reliable vehicle from account to account.
Must be able to work in an environment where alcohol is served and consumed.
Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Must be available for overnight travel (up to 20%).
