- Understand automobiles sold by dealership by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; compare and contrast competitive models
- Qualify buyers by understanding prospective customers’ requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport
- Demonstrate operation of automobiles in the showroom by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; test drive automobile with customers; explain automobile warranties and services
- Close sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price
- Provide new automobiles to customers through established delivery process, ensure that the customer understands the automobile’s operating features, warranty and all paperwork
- Maintain an owner follow up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction, loyalty and long-term clientele including; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at community activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions
- Provide sales management information by completing reports
- Update job requirements and vehicle brand knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by corporate management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California driver’s license and insurable
- Able to acquire California Car Salesperson license
- Previous sales experience a plus
- Basic understanding of vehicle financing
- ADP/CDK experience a plus
- Knowledge of Dealersocket CRM preferred
- Effective relationship-building skills including post sale relationship management skills
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise
- Effective communication skills in dealing with customers, employees, and business partners; ability to communicate enthusiasm for vehicle brands; excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, superior time management skills, ability to work as a team and with minimal supervision
- Flexible and ability to adapt to the demands of business needs
