Overview:
Georgia Crown is hiring a Key Account Manager in Birmingham Al. Georgia Crown is a full-service alcoholic beverage distributor with wholesale operations doing business in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. The position is responsible for performing a variety of Customer Service and Administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Full-time position. Responsible for presenting and selling in the Convenience Store Channel. Must be able to travel throughout the state of Alabama in order to facilitate presentations and training with Chain accounts locations when needed. Must be able to present all commodities and develop and cultivate relationships with Chain buyers as well as individual location buyers. Must be able to manage and develop direct reports where applicable. Must be able to handle all other outside responsibilities as assigned when not dealing with chain groups.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage convenience stores and buyers.
  • Enter price promotions into chain portals.
  • Must be proficient and timely on recapping market activity as well as activity of direct reports where applicable.
  • Implement local programming from Sales Goal Tracker
  • Involved in all aspects of product presentations and flow through and activation with assigned Chain Accounts
  • Implement national programming with accounts.
  • Help facilitate new account openings.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to ensure presentation of priority brands.
  • Show professionalism in all areas as a leader.
  • Handle all responsibilities assigned from General Sales Manager as outlined in area of responsibility discussions.
  • Willing to show flexibility to adapt to newly assigned projects and responsibilities.
  • Attend sales meetings in all 4 markets when schedule permits.
  • Work the market one on one with local suppliers to make presentations to Chain Accounts where applicable.
  • Lead by example with interaction and enthusiasm in the market and at sales meetings
  • Lead professional business review meetings with Chain buyers and all other accounts.
  • Willing and able to attend market events such as charity events etc.
  • Follow the directions and responsibilities of the job as directed by General Sales Manager
  • The job is very demanding, hours fluctuate, there will be late nights involved, visiting accounts and spending time with sales reps during ride-withs and promotions
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 3 years minimum sales experience in the beverage industry (wholesale, supplier, restaurant, or hotel experience preferred)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • College degree preferred, however High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, mathematics, time management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a rapidly changing, fast growth environment.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must possess valid AL Driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain 100/300/100 liability insurance limitations.
  • Background Checks (i.e., Police backgrounds, reference checks)
  • Motor Vehicle Record will be pulled to establish employment eligibility.
  • No DUI, reckless driving or hit and run in the past 5 years.
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
