UACL Logistics, LLC a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Business Development.

UACL Logistics, LLC provides Flatbed, Van, Over Dimensional, Oilfield, Reefer and Logistics Services throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. As one of the strongest truckload carriers in the nation UACL Logistics, LLC has the ability to provide transportation services for our customers, agents, and owner operators. Our stability and experience within the industry has been proven with our continued growth, year after year.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Minimum of 3-5 years transportation/logistics sales experience (preference in van, flatbed, and/or truckload)
• Successful history in sales and business development
• Strong business acumen
• Exceptional oral/written communication skills, time & territory management and able to meet deadlines on a consistent basis
• Confident, decisive with strong negotiation, problem solving and closing skills
• Must desire to travel as much as 50% of the time
• A BA or BS in business transportation/logistics or equivalent is preferred but not require

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead business development and oversight of agent locations in an assigned geographic area, spearheading business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.
• Develop direct relationships with the customers
• Ensure profitability of independent contractors
• Recruit new agents and independent contractors to support and promote growth
• Guide, develop and secure incremental revenue and market share from new business and existing accounts to achieve profitable volume growth consistent with regional revenue goals
• Review market analyses to determine customer needs, agent needs and volume potential
