Full description of the position
General Description:
Position Requirements:
Group and firm outside sales representative for the continuing legal education (CLE) and TexasBarBooks departments of the Bar. State Bar of Texas employee responsible for identifying, qualifying, presenting, and selling legal education products to law firms in Texas. The primary job objective is to establish new customer relationships and maintain existing relationships with laws firms in Texas and to increase the revenue and share of the total CLE budget and market through quality service and consultative sales. Reports to the Business Development & Finance Manager.
Primary Functions: 1. Develop new business proactively as well as maintain and grow existing clients to contribute to the overall goals of the TexasBarCLE department and the State Bar of Texas.
2. Help clients assess their legal education needs and develop educational plans and strategies.
3. Advise clients on the design of their CLE package, which may include seminars, online products, and TexasBarBooks practice manuals & licenses.
4. Solve clients’ problems relative to legal education and legal information and help develop creative new products to meet lawyers’ needs.
5. Increase the revenue of the total CLE budget.
6. Increase the Bar’s share of the total CLE market.
7. Work with an in-house team to ensure that the programs and products are delivered as requested.
8. Generate goodwill and positive public relations for the State Bar as a whole.
9. Execute strategic sales & marketing plan to effectively promote group and firm sales efforts.
10. Performs other responsibilities as required.

Position Requirements:
Five years sales, marketing or consulting experience required OR a college degree and a minimum of three years of sales, marketing, or consulting experience. Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills. Creative, compelling, and engaging presentation skills in person and on the telephone. Must be comfortable dealing directly with attorneys, judges, and State Bar leadership with the ability to motivate, persuade, or dissuade diplomatically. Must have the ability to maintain constructive long-term relationships with attorneys. Requires sensitivity to organizational and interpersonal dynamics and entails day-to-day communication and cooperation with an experienced staff of specialists. Dependable, presentable transportation that can be used on the job, valid Texas driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and proof of liability insurance. Necessary travel throughout the state.
