Your Role

SAS' Business Development team is critical to executing our missions. As a Business Development Analyst, you will help drive the future of SAS by being an integral part of our business development process. Working closely with executives and senior leadership, you will administer the company's customer resource management (CRM) system and help track and manage opportunities across the entire business development lifecycle, including metric generation and reporting. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, action-oriented and deliverable-focused.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Administer company CRM and support business development processes
  • Works closely with all members of the leadership team to organize and coordinate business development activities of SAS
  • Collects and enters pursuit information into CRM and develops metrics and reports to demonstrate the performance of the overall business development process
  • Uses various tools and systems (i.e., GovTribe and Sam.gov; customer databases and portals; industry intelligence, etc.) to search for and identify proposal opportunities from both commercial customers as well as government databases for all profit centers of SAS
  • Researches and critically analyzes large volumes of data using spreadsheets and data mining skills to isolate and prioritize key data
  • Summarizes and presents summary and detailed proposal information in internal management reviews and customer fact-finding meetings
  • Updates and maintains information and coordinated inputs for recurring reviews.
  • Develop and maintain client dossiers, including business lanes, org structure and key personnel, potential pursuits, strategies, etc., through discussions with SAS teams, industry news and events, and professional network
  • Support data gathering with potential International partners
Plan and manage proposal efforts
  • Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications, company policies, and Government regulations.
  • Coordinates with contributors from cross-functional organizations to ensure quality proposals are submitted within customer deadlines.
  • Contributes to the development of overall proposal strategy including: technical approach, pricing strategy, and historical performance examples
  • Work with the Finance team to gather and compile cost-estimating data
  • May act as proposal manager/cost volume manager when required
  • Assist with the development of a responsive WBS to include adherence to EVMS as required
  • Assists with overall proposal delivery schedule
  • Interfaces with engineers, functional managers, and other team members to develop estimates
  • Reviews BOEs for accuracy and compliance
  • Contributes to evaluating costs, both recurring and nonrecurring, identifying cost drivers, risks, and opportunities
To qualify for this role, we require the successful candidates to have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business management, or manufacturing operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a business development, finance, or engineering role within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Excellent in spreadsheets, data visualization, and other business software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently from high-level guidance.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and support product development in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills
In addition, we are most interested in candidates who also have the following experience:
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other Government Regulations
  • Proficiency in Unanet CRM
  • Experience with proposal writing and support
How You Will Be Rewarded

The annual salary for this role is $60,000 to $100,000. Compensation depends on the candidate's work experience, education/training, and related skills.
