Job Description:

The In-Home Sales Consultant (Hybrid) at Conn's HomePlus is a unique hybrid role that combines responsibilities for making product presentations, negotiating, and closing sales for in-home flooring and countertop purchases in customers' homes, as well as serving as a Sales Associate on the sales floor. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of tile, carpet, hardwood flooring, countertops, and related products. Candidates with in-home sales experience from other industries, such as windows, siding, roofing, etc., will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

In-Home Sales Consultations:

  • Conduct engaging product presentations in customers' homes, showcasing the wide range of flooring and countertop options available.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of tile, carpet, hardwood flooring, countertops, and related products to provide expert advice and guidance to customers.
  • Take accurate measurements of customers' spaces, provide detailed estimates, and present suitable flooring and countertop options based on their needs and preferences.
  • Skillfully negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to reach mutually beneficial agreements with customers, closing sales for flooring and countertop purchases.

Sales Associate on the Sales Floor:

  • Promote Conn's HomePlus products and financing options at the showroom, serving as a knowledgeable resource for customers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the buying process, actively listening to customers' needs and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Conn's HomePlus product categories, including electronics, appliances, furniture, mattresses, and more, to effectively assist customers with their diverse needs.
  • Offer creative solutions, addressing each customer's unique requirements, concerns, and objections to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with store personnel, including the sales team and management, to meet sales metrics and contribute to the overall success of the store.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in in-home sales, preferably within industries such as windows, siding, roofing, or related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of tile, carpet, hardwood flooring, countertops, and related products, including their features, benefits, and installation processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of successfully reaching sales targets.
  • Familiarity with sales processes and techniques, including conducting product presentations and handling objections.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage customers, build relationships, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately measure spaces and provide estimates for flooring and countertop requirements.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customers' schedules and meet business needs.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years previous in-home flooring sales experience
  • Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Computer and clerical experience are preferred (MS Word and Excel)
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Required to maintain a full-time retail schedule, including evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check prior to beginning employment.
  • Ability to lift 20-30lbs of flooring samples
