We have an excellent opportunity in our Baltimore headquarters for an experienced business developer to join our practice.
This role will be an integral part of RMF's Client Relations Team (CRT), which covers all of our geographies on the east coast. We are looking for a person who has knowledge of the AEC market in the mid-Atlantic region and brings a strong network within this community. This role reports to our Manager of Northeast Client Relations and focuses on strategic planning, identifying, and meeting with target clients, building a strong network and positioning the firm to develop enduring relationships. Knowledge of the healthcare, higher ed and federal markets is a plus. You will closely collaborate with the leaders of the Buildings Division in Baltimore as well as members of our Creative Production Team for proposals and interviews.
Responsibilities:
- Working with firm leaders to develop a list of potential targeted clients and project opportunities that support the strategy of the buildings group.
- Meet with targeted clients and industry professionals to build and maintain relationships.
- Carry out research on the clients and markets we work in including healthcare, higher education, and federal.
- Develop and maintain a strong business network to keep abreast of industry, client and competitor activity as well as identify strong project partners.
- Understand current business trends (across sectors) within your geographic region.
- Collaborate with marketing team to advise on the development of marketing collateral for client engagement as well as proposal and interview materials.
- Update and maintain lead tracking databases with relevant information on targeted clients, contacts and opportunities
- Participate in the go-no-go decision process
- Represent RMF at industry associations and events and coordinate participation of other key RMF personnel, plus follow-up on requests. Collaborate with the other RMF offices where there is alignment in the client relationship and leverage RMF's full range of services.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience required.
- Knowledge of AEC/Real Estate market in the Mid-Atlantic region with experience in healthcare a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Deltek Vision.
- Skilled at discretion and confidentiality.
- Communicates with co-workers, management, clients and others with a responsive, service-oriented mindset; self-starter, resourceful, detail oriented.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate within a team environment - readily shares information with colleagues and embraces the give and take of responsibilities that regularly occurs among team members.
