Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Front-end Engineer – Digital and Omni Channel Sales. As a Principal Front-end Engineer, you have the challenge and the opportunity to re-envision customer sales journey with cutting edge technologies.
We are looking to hire someone who has enterprise grade experience and is willing to take up a new challenge to make an incredible impact on our digital and omni channel sales platform.
As Principal Front-end Engineer, Digital and Omni Channel Sales, your primary responsibilities will include
- Leading, architecting, and directing a team of front-end developers (onshore and offshore) to build pixel-perfect, robust, and accessible web applications
- Providing deep technical support and hands-on knowledge for all front-end needs of multiple web applications
- Working closely with UI/UX designers, Product Owners, 3rd party vendors, and other internal IT teams to provide direction and recommendation to build best in class user experiences
- Participating in conceiving and designing new UI/UX flows and developing standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Working in an Agile environment and participating in full SDLC
- Participating in daily scrum calls, reviewing project progress, identifying issues, risks and blockers with the deliverables and guiding team for the resolution
- Independently driving a project from inception to production deployment with a strong focus on performance and robustness
- Ensuring the page performance and accessibility of web applications is up to standard
- Defining standards and guidelines based on best-practices and ensuring these are followed
- Reviewing, evaluating, and prioritizing new feature requests from business partners and stakeholders
- Debugging and resolving production issues
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in UI/UX development with at least 4 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of responsive web design and cross browser/platform compatibility.
- Solid coding practices include good design documentation, unit testing, peer code reviews, and a preference for agile methods
- Experience working with SPA (Single Page Application) architecture
- Experience developing software using modern tools and frameworks such as ReactJS, Redux, styled-components, Node.js, Express
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., SCSS, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, Typescript, etc...)
- Knowledgeable with front-end testing techniques and tools like Cypress, Jest, Jasmine
- Experience building reusable React components
- Experience working with CI/CD principles and techniques to continuously deliver quality code
- Experience working with restful services, consuming JSON, XML responses
- Experience using modular JavaScript, async patterns and DOM manipulation
- Experience working with content management systems
- Familiarity with SQL and relational/non-relational databases
- Experience releasing code to production as often as weekly
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
- Highly self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Experience in Telecom industry
- Familiarity with cloud AWS or Azure or GCP
- Experience with mobile app (iOS and Android) development
- Knowledge of GraphQL, Contentstack, AEM
