Organization Description


The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) is a non-profit, investor-driven organization that leads economic development in the nine-parish Capital Region. Today, BRAC investors include more than 1,400 businesses, civic organizations, education institutions, and individuals. In this capacity, BRAC serves as the voice of the business community.

Job Description

The Manager of Investor Development will report to the Senior Vice President of Investor Development. This full-time position is primarily responsible for:

  • Leading new annual investor development and sales efforts by sharing BRAC’s mission and vision for the nine parish region
  • Creating and implementing a strategy to accomplish the goal of securing at least 150 new investors each year
  • Participate in select business community events to build the BRAC network and engage prospective investors
  • Working collaboratively across the organization to:
    • Understand and communicate the organization’s mission
    • Create and support an investor focused culture within BRAC
    • Increase internal lead development
  • Working collaboratively within the Investor Relations team
  • Working within the Investor database/CRM and
    • Researching, identifying, and tracking prospective investors and related tasks
    • Securing new investors and reporting information about their membership and organization
  • Supporting efforts to engage and retain BRAC’s investors
  • Managing projects related to new investor development
  • Working with BRAC Ambassador program
  • And other duties as assigned

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an interest in understanding and improving the Baton Rouge area and be a curious, highly motivated, self-starter, problem solver, and team player with:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in sales, marketing, mass communication, or non-profit fundraising
  • A strong command of Microsoft office Suite
  • Ability to learn and successfully navigate new systems/databases
