The Director of Sales Operations leads support functions essential to sales force productivity, efficiency, and automation. Manages support and day-to-day operational functions essential to sales productivity and management in the assigned business segments. These include planning, logistics, customer service, test and repair (RMAs), reporting, and sales process optimization. The Director of Sales Operation is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the assigned sales organization with a focus on implementing productivity improvements throughout the organization through the implementation of information technology and system level improvements. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development and Operations, the Director of Sales Operations also works closely with internal and external teams to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization. Responsible for developing procedures and systems and supervising staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives and to create strategies to continuously improve the process, quality, and productivity.
- Works with the executive team to develop a sales department strategy aligned with company goals.
- Responsible for SAP implementation direction overall, helping product management, sales, and finance to allow improved productivity with resolution of system SAP/IT issues.
- Implement productivity improvements throughout the organization through the implementation of information technology and system level improvements.
- Coordinates sales activities with marketing activities to ensure that both departments are working together to achieve common goals.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves or assists in resolving operation, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Develops and implements plans and strategies to meet customer delivery requirements, turn around time objectives, quality requirements and cost objectives, to meet department goals, and to continuously improve the production process and quality.
- Manages employee performance as it relates to sales goals by providing feedback, identifying training needs, and offering support where needed.
- Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales and financial reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization.
- Works with marketing, sales, finance, and executive management to produce reports for business planning, progress, and results throughout financial reporting periods.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science or Engineering preferred).- Seven to ten years of experience in (IT, Sales Operations, Marketing Operations or Finance).
- Strong background in IT; specifically in SAP, EDI and MRP systems.
- Experience in developing and executing IT strategies and road maps in alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to problem solve and motivate, lead, coach and direct a diverse, matrix sales and support team working in various locations worldwide.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and mentorship experience providing support and motivation to employees that generate results.
- Requires advanced level of communication, negotiation, interpersonal relationship skills.
- Must be able to clearly communicate and have the ability to problem solve and motivate, lead, coach and direct a diverse, matrix sales and support team working in various locations worldwide.
- Be a strong leader with organizational, and mentorship experience providing support and motivation to employees that generate results.
