Location: BTAS Corporate Colorado Springs, CO

Summary/Objective:
The purpose of this position is to develop customer/teaming relationships to increase BTAS business. As such, the Business Development Executive will work to develop and vet new business opportunities and assist in maintaining our current markets in the DoD, Federal, and commercial sectors.
- Knowledge of capture planning and be able to build a network of opportunities along with the Senior Director of Business Development and the other Business Development staff.
- Fully understand BTAS capabilities and market them professionally and with confidence.

This results-oriented position will also require an ability to assist in proposal development and eventually leading efforts to build task order responses, serve as capture manager, and proposal manager on targeted efforts.
- Responsible for managing and routinely participating in BTAS Pipeline reviews, as well as, updating information in the BTAS Pipeline related to opportunity status.
- This includes client and prospect information, proposal tracking and follow-up, analysis of competition and performance metrics.
- This will also include completing capture plans, preparing action plans and schedules to identify specific targets, and forecast business capture.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gather, organize, and disseminate information among members of the corporate staff involved in identifying, developing, and producing technical and cost data required for proposal development.
- Broker information (verbal and written) among the corporate staff and key managers associated with creation, review, coordination and final approval of actionable teaming arrangements, non-disclosure agreements, sub-contract agreements and related BD development documents.
- Develop and/or coordinate development of task order and new contract proposal documentation from initial request for information through production of final proposal documents.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the overall policies, procedures, practices, goals, and objectives of the BD department.
- Maintain a web-based BD Planning & Status Database.
- Present quarterly BD activity & progress reports to the Executive Counsel.
- Develop and present briefings; develop point papers and associated background information used for analysis and decision making in the BD arena.
- Research, review and analyze BD information with the intent of identifying or developing initiatives, partnerships and opportunities that meet the goals and objectives of the BTAS Strategic and Business Development Plans.
- Identify and recommend to the BTAS Executive Council new BD initiatives, partnerships or required capabilities necessary to achieve growth goals contained in the BTAS Strategic or Business Development Plans.
- Develop data necessary to produce and update the BTAS Strategic Plan and associated BD planning and decision tools.
- Conduct sales/marketing visits; present sales/marketing briefings.
- Participate in trade shows, seminars, conferences, and related events that present opportunities to expand or create business growth opportunities.
- Recommend and coordinate final exhibit/display design and layout; obtain exhibit/display cost estimates; and coordinate construction of exhibits and displays.
- Responsible for all aspects (functional and logistical) for BD planning and information meetings involving BTAS personnel, as well as existing or potential business partners and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Vice President, Senior VP Business Development and other executives.
Required Education:
- BA/BS Degree in Business, Management, or related discipline, plus five (5) years minimum business development or related work experience in a DoD/Federal market.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with proposal development in support of DoD and/or commercial clients.
- Commercial business experiences a plus.
- Must be relevant on proposal management best practices and tools, such as:
- Shipley Model for Proposal Development and Bid Management
- Proposal Storyboard development and management
- Bid/No-Bid Decisions
- Competitor Analysis
- Theme development and analysis
- Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the BD discipline as they pertain to identifying and securing work within the government services (business and technical) arenas.
- Must exercise initiative and judgment, as well as rely on instructions, guidelines, and regulations to successfully meet performance expectations pertaining to efficient operation and execution of corporate BD activities.
- Must possess ability to prioritize and execute activities to achieve desired company and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency.
- Must be able to work cohesively and collaboratively with all departments in our corporate office to support our mission.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate strong management and analytical skills.
- Must be willing to travel locally and nationally.
- Must provide strong employment references and submit to and pass a complete background check.
