Full description of the position

Do you enjoy building relationships with key business decision makers? Do you enjoy retaining customers and helping grow portfolio value? Do you enjoy working with a CRM and helping to improve our sales processes? Then the Account Manager I may be the job for you!
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for retaining customers while growing portfolio margins. This will require you to have a strong knowledge of our C&I rate structures, contracts, and the natural gas market. You will also need to be able to determine the customer's needs and weigh competitive information to enable you to provide them guidance in choosing the best product for them to win their business and build loyalty. Strong partnership with our acquisition sales team will be an important part of creating a smooth handoff and a strong customer experience. You will provide great service to customers and support the team in its effort to build customer relationships. You will support the team on initiatives meant to improve customer experience and/or achieve operational excellence. You will build expertise in rates, contracts, markets we serve, and our CRM system in this role.

Other stuff we like:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related area preferred
  • An understating of marketing, sales, rates, billing, and energy is required
  • Experience in the natural gas marketing is preferred
  • Excellent PC skills in Microsoft applications
  • Experience in Salesforce is preferred
  • Bilingual, Mandarin- speaking preferred

This position has a base salary with commission.

More details on what you would be responsible for:

  • Provide pricing solutions to customers, including customer and account research, producing and customizing proposals, contracts while interacting with customers directly.
  • Partner with Commercial Account Executives, Lead Originators, and Supply & Risk Mgt to provide business expertise and strong relationship support to achieve customer retention goals.
  • Renew customers while growing margins, weighing multiple factors including competitive quotes, customer relationship, market and pricing variables, previous account margin, context of customer situation, etc.
  • Evaluate rate alternatives which will meet the customer's and the company's needs; understand customer load requirements, purchasing practices, and budgeting process to best determine information to include in sales presentation.
  • Build and grow relationships with key accounts in order to create loyalty and amazing customer experience, improve retention probability, and provide good return via margins.
  • Assist in the development and execution of an on-going account management strategy for assigned customers, including customer communications, hospitality planning, and product/rate positioning.
  • Effectively communicate customer's position to the company and proactively communicate the company's position to the customer on key issues.
  • Facilitate communication and resolution between customer and appropriate company department of billing, meter reading, energy usage, credit, and day-to-day collections issues, offering advice on ways to reduce customers' bills through conservation and/or creative rate applications, construction or service delivery.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive and current knowledge of pertinent technical, business, regulatory and industry issues related to key customers, which will help gain credibility with customers.
  • Effectively use the CRM to record key customer information to aid in the retention and service of assigned customer segments. Maintain and update customer related data (correspondence, contracts, etc).
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork with Sales team, Operations team, and Supply & Risk Mgt team to drive value to the business and provide support the team to promote long term success

Pay: $54,000.00 - $60,500.00 per year
